Nedietech (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Nedietech provides a digital nutrition and lifestyle tracking tool that helps individuals track their meals and lifestyle habits, and allows professionals (dietitians, nutritionists, lifestyle coaches) to support their clients.

2. Data We Collect
We collect the following data when you use our website or app:
For individuals (clients):
- Account information (email, name if provided).
- Lifestyle logs (meal photos, hunger/fullness, emotions, stress, sleep, movement, adherence).
- Optional notes or reflections (please avoid entering private medical details).
For professionals (dietitians, coaches):
- Account information (email, name, organization).
- Information you add about clients (e.g., reminders, feedback).
Automatically collected:
- Technical data (device, browser, IP address, usage statistics).
3. Purpose of Processing
We process your data to:
- Enable app features (meal logging, check-ins, reminders).
- Allow professionals to view and support clients (with consent).
- Improve the app and services.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data under the following GDPR bases:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) – for lifestyle/health-related logs.
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b)) – to provide app functionality and subscriptions.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) – to improve services.
- Legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)) – where required by law.
5. Data Sharing
- We do not sell personal data.
- We may share data with service providers (hosting, cloud storage, analytics) acting as GDPR-compliant processors.

- Data is stored securely on GDPR-compliant platforms.
- Personal data is retained while you have an active account.

9. Children’s Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 16.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
- Personal data connected to financial transactions (e.g., subscriptions, payments, and invoices) is retained for a maximum of seven (7) years, in accordance with Dutch tax and accounting regulations.
- Other personal data (such as health logs, photos, and emotional tracking data) is retained for a maximum of two (2) years after a user becomes inactive, unless the user deletes their account earlier.
- After the retention period expires, personal data will be securely deleted or anonymized.
11. Inactive Accounts
If a user stops using the Nedietech app but does not delete their account, we will consider the account inactive after 12 months of no activity.
- After this period, we may contact the user to confirm whether they wish to keep their data or have it deleted.
- If no response is received within 30 days, we reserve the right to anonymize or delete the account and its associated data, except where retention is legally required (e.g., financial records).

We may update this Privacy Policy. If significant changes are made, you will be notified via email or in-app notification.
